Have no graven images, or idols, or substitutes for Christ. So what about the Pope?

If the Pope is the temporal head of the Church until Christ returns what does that have to do with idolatry? You are deliberately doing this. A graven image is an image enchanted with a spirit so that it seems like a god. Art is not idolatry. The Catholic church does not teach that the Pope is that stand in for Christ. Get real. Some would say the Jesus is a substitute for God for Christians, wouldn't they? They do. We say he is not, that he is the intercessor between God and man. Stop distorting what the Catholic Church teaches. I invite you to go to your local library and get a copy of the official Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church and read it. It's lengthy.
