Is it impossible to obtain "superpowers"?

I know we can't actually shoot eye lasers and kamehameha waves or use telekinesis. But could we make things that do it for us? I saw another question here, a guy was asking if using electrical might was possible. I thought back and remembered hearing how lasers were once a fictional element from Star Trek. A guy got curious and bam, we have lasers. I also remember seeing something called Fusion Man in school. A man took wing panels from a B2 I think and an engine of some sort and made a jet pack with retractable wings. He could only glide for while but it could be enhanced. He reminded me of Rocket Knight! It just makes me wonder what we can create. What can humans do that should be beyond our mind's limit and earthly physics?
